Who is the NAPLAN tutoring & test prep for?

NAPLAN is different from regular classwork

Children in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 at ALL schools are required to sit four separate tests over three days in March.

Tests are overseen by the teachers and principal at each school and usually take place in a hall or large classroom.

Although NAPLAN gives parents, teachers and schools an idea of where each individual student is at in their development, it’s mostly used to compare a school’s average with the national average. NAPLAN results are used in planning, and to determine which schools, programs or skills need to be prioritised and scrutinised.

Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary English focuses on developing students' literacy skills with in-depth studies of Shakespeare and essay structure in the early years, and deeper analysis of different texts and topics in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

Grace

English: Secondary

Grace completed her Victorian Certificate of Education in 2019 and will commence studying a Bachelor of Speech Pathology in 2021. She has experience tutoring students in years 7 to 12 in English, and 7-8 in Maths. Grace has good teaching strategies for complex concepts and strives to be an active listener and mentor to each student. Grace aims to bring out the best in her students so they will gain the confidence to study and answer questions independently.

Himani

VIC University Student (Bachelor of Arts and Commerce)

English: Secondary

Himani completed her Monash University Foundation Year in 2018 then commenced her Bachelor of Arts (majoring in English) and Commerce at Deakin University, later in 2018. Himani has 1 year of formal tutoring experience and has tutored students in years 2 to Victorian Certificate of Education students in both English and Mathematics. Himani has experience with special needs students and is passionate about aiding her students to achieve academic progress.

NSW University Student (Bachelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Honours) / Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice)

Mathematics: Primary & Secondary

Zahra completed her Year 12 certificate with an ATAR of 91.00 and is currently studying a Bachelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Honours) at University of Technology, Sydney. Zahra has 2 years of tutoring experience and has taught students at varying levels of experience and skillsets. She enjoys breaking down concepts to their simplest forms so students can better understand and retain the knowledge.

Jack completed the International Baccalaureate with an impressive ATAR score of 92 and is now completing a Bachelor of Aeronautics at the University of NSW. Brendon completed his Higher School Certificate in 2020, achieving an ATAR of 98.80, going on to commence his Bachelor of Computer Science/Media Arts. He has experience as a formal face-to-face Tutor primarily in English. During his time in High School he also organised mentoring sessions for his peers to expand their knowledge and skills in preparation for their Higher School Certificate, mostly in Chemistry and Physics. Brendon hopes to share his knowledge to help others achieve the same success he has had.
