Year 9 Maths
The Year 9 program covers Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, Statistics and Probability, and introduces the study of Trigonometry. Students use appropriate strategies to solve problems and link mathematical ideas and the relevant terminology and notations to explain their thinking processes. Our Year 9 program places a great deal of importance on consolidating prior mathematical knowledge and laying the strongest foundations for senior Mathematics at every level.

Meet Dr Selina Samuels
Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.
Maths Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum
Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary Maths focuses on developing students’ numeracy skills with algebraic techniques and properties of geometrical figures in Years 7 and 8, and functions, indices and data analysis in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

Rebekah
QLD University Student (Bachelor of Science (Earth Sciences Major))
Mathematics: Secondary
Rebekah graduated high school in 2019, achieving an ATAR of 90. She then went on to study her Bachelor of Science, majoring in Earth Science at the University of Queensland. She currently helps peers at university as a PASS Tutor, tutoring students in the year below her. She also has experience with some informal tutoring with a Lower Secondary student. Rebekah believes that her experience with tutoring has provided her with valuable methods in working out efficient ways to successfully mentor and aid students.

VIC University Student (Bachelor of Medical Science / Doctor of Medicine)
Mathematics: Secondary
Ahnaf graduated high school in 2020 with an ATAR of 99.75 going on to commence his Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine at Monash University. He has experience in tutoring students in years 7 to 12 in Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Specialist Maths, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Ahnaf is confident that he can educate and guide his students by dissecting problems to present them in a more approachable manner and maintaining the students' self-confidence to best facilitate learning whilst also monitoring student weaknesses.

Joshua graduated from High School in 2020 with an ATAR of 98.95, going on to study his Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at the Queensland University of Technology. Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice
Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
- Discuss student’s areas of focus (if first session)
- Review previous session's assigned practice (if subsequent session)

During the session
- Work through exercises based on the topics and concepts for each learning goal
